COMBAT MOTORS
Way back in 2014, I was employed by a company by the name of Confederate Motorcycles. Initially, under the leadership and guidance of Pierre Terblanche, head designer for the Hellcat Speedster, I learned the traditional practices of proper motorcycle packaging and design.
I was then given my chance as head of design for the second generation Fighter project. The P51 Fighter was born and would go on to make the cover of Hot Bike magazine, along with starring in the film Transformers: The Last Knight. Additional appearances in the Fast & Furious saga and TV shows followed.
The company, under new ownership, was renamed Combat Motors. New models are currently being created, including the Wraith, which has a fuel tank that is 5-axis machined from 6061-T6 aluminum.
SKILLS DEPLOYED: Solidworks CAD, Motorcycle Design, Component & Assembly Development, Packaging, Graphic/Logo Development, Production Print Creation, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances, Assembly Guide Creation, Project Management, Marketing.
Note: The owner, Andrew Reuther, not Reut Design, LLC, is employed by Combat Motors.
The Silver Screen
The original P51 Fighter from 2015 was written into the storyline of the Michael Bay film Transformers: The Last Knight. The bike, being dressed for the part, was a natural fit for the film. Below is a brief excerpt from the film showing the P51 Fighter as an actual transformer.
